Čeština: Na znamení kapitulace předal Onoda filipínskému prezidentu Marcosovi svůj důstojnický meč (zabalený do bílé látky). Prezident přijal Onodovu omluvu za škody, které během svého třicetiletého boje na Lubangu způsobil, a meč po chvíli vrátil.
