Linha 4: Wikipedia's Portuguese language version (known as ''Wikipédia'' and located at pt.wikipedia.org) announced today that its 100,000th article has been published. Wikipedia's main purpose is to build an free encyclopaedia in wich every person can contribute, reacheable via the internet and made with open content. There are different versions of Wikipedia writen in more than a hundred idioms. Wikipedia was started in January, 2001. Currently it is the biggest encyclopaedia ofin the world, as ofit is the one with the largest growing rate, with articles being developed in more than a hundred languages. Near to 2,500 new articles are created in Wikipedia every day. In the same period, other 25,000 articles are updated. Wikipedia is build entirely by volunteers who make their contribuitions by updating and reviewing the articles in a colaborative process.
