Raoni Lima Maciel is a Brazilian musician , he was born in Itapetinga , state of Bahia. When he was four years old , he began to play the keyboard of the ear trying to reproduce the melodies of the repertoire of MPB that his father listened to at home and at the age of 9 began to study Piano in Conservatory of music ARTESOM, in the city where he was born.
At the age of 12 he started playing the guitar with his friends , at 15 he had his first band "Blues na Contra mão", where he began his professional career. Since early Raoní has always been accompanied by friends more experienced musicians which made him acquire a certain maturity and musical experience and considers his friends his greatest influences until today.
At age 18, with the intention of growing up in music, he moved to the capital, Salvador, where he studied "Composition and regency" at UFBA, where he currently studies "Guitar and Guitar in Popular Music". This change of city influenced directly in his way of making music, influenced by the drums and Afro Baiano rhythm, has made Raoní a distinguished artist, for many times with a rock and roll attitude but with a groove, swing and very Brazilian resourcefulness seeking to express his art.
In 2011 he was awarded the International Guitar Competition as a revelation, promoted by the company Toadworks of California. In March 2012 he was in 6th place in the international guitar competition, where he honored the legendary guitarist and songwriter Gary More, promoted by a guitarist community of the United States, called "Live4guitar
Raoní won the 13th Educadora FM Music Festival in the category "Best Instrumental Music" with his song "Giro do Sol".
Currently Raoní is producing his first CD that promises to come loaded with an accent, with Afro Brazilian influences in his particular way of composing. Parallel to his work, Raoní also acts as Sideman, recordings, direction and musical production.
In 2016 he played at the XXI Festival of instrumental music in Bahia, sharing the stage with renowned national and international artists such as João Donato, Léo Gandelman and Diego Figueiredo.
He has played with artists such as Jota Veloso, Carlos Pita and Ivete Sangalo. He recorded the band's album Eva in 2013 ,where he performed with the band in the same year, He was musical director and accompanied the singer Gilmelândia during her international tour among in addition to other performances with another artists.
