Uma pesquisa básica no Google oferece 0 hits (idem no Google Books) para "equipamento aquático pessoal", o que indica que o título em português é pesquisa inédita de seu criador, e deve ser trocado pelo termo correto utilizado no idioma. RafaAzevedo ^disc 19h05min de 21 de março de 2011 (UTC)

Let me apologize first to write here in English, anyway the title (as stated above) was completely invented by non-scholars, let me remember the policy Wikipédia:Nada de pesquisa inédita, I can understand the problems about orthographic differences among Portuguese an Brazilian-Portuguese, by the way Google IS NOT a source!!! (and in this case, as we will later see, Wikipedia was a primary source to Google and others!!!) ...So now, we also need to the calculate the socio-cultural "impact" of Wikipedia as mass-media in the culture, infact, since this article has appeared on pt.wiki, the day of 21 de março de 2011, as RafaAzevedo wrote just up, thanksgiving the "copy and paste" from Wiki, there are now 92 Google results [1]!!! but just Google books is a kind of quick research among reliable sources, so we got the following results: 0 (zero) per "equipamento aquático pessoal", and just 1 for: mota d'água IMHO inventing new terms in name of what the "common sense" call "politically correct" is very dangerous to the Wikipedia reliability.

So what to do now? Jet Sky is a registered Trade Mark, aquabike and aquascooter are names of previous and different brevets and objects (even if sometimes they are wrongly used to describe a mota d'agua), "mota d'agua" is in Portuguese language, and "jet esqui" seems to be the Brazilian ones (its pronunciation obviously comes from Jet Sky, so will be POV per other constructors like Yamaha and Bombardier). --Nicola Romani (discussão) 12h27min de 16 de setembro de 2011 (UTC)

The problem is that a 'jet ski' (we don't use "jet esqui") or 'mota d'água' is not the same thing, stricto sensu, as an "equipamento aquático pessoal" (or whatever this article is to be called); it is just one type of these 'equipments' (which also include, as the article say, other types of vehicles). Jet ski/mota d'água even has its own article already. Therefore the need for a new name still exists, but I am really at a loss to what it should be. Do you mean the differences among Runabout and Stand-up PWCs? In Italy they are both considered "moto d'acqua" (personal watercraft) by law (e.g. like cars are divided in several sub-categories like Coupé, Sedan, Station wagon etc.). Of course there are people who call them jet ski, acquascooter, sea-doo, acquabike etc. but the proper name is moto d'acqua due to its non-ambiguity with other brevets. --Nicola Romani (discussão) 13h35min de 16 de setembro de 2011 (UTC)

If that's the case in Italy, that's the case in Italy. That is definitely not the case in Portugal or Brazil, therefore the question is not that simple as you suggest. As I said, we already have an article for jet ski/moto d'água (and besides, the words 'mota d'água' are completely incomprehensible for any Brazilians). In this case probably the best solution will be to keep the original English name 'personal watercraft' or 'personal water craft' instead the actual translation, writing in incipit wich are the names used in Portugal an Brazil... any other names to add (e.g. like moto acuática)? do you agree? any other suggestions? --Nicola Romani (discussão) 07h38min de 18 de setembro de 2011 (UTC)
