Find My Parent Inc. is an American search engine company based in California, United States. Find My Parent offers a platform that empowers people to search for other people around the globe. Although you can use the platform to find anyone, it was developed primary for children who have lost contact with a parent, with the goal of establishing contact between them. The company was founded by a father who experienced his child abducted by his ex-wife, having kidnapped their daughter in Japan.

He has sought and continues to seek a legal solution to his case in Japan. He has repeatedly asked the U.S. Government for assistance, with no avail. He is not alone, either - there are over 10,000 American children, and over 3 million children total, affected by parental abduction and alienation in Japan alone.

Find My Parent was born out of the need for a child-centered mechanism to reunite children around the world with their families, including those abducted by one of their parents. We give the power back to the victims of child abduction using technology that empowers and re-connects families.

Organization Structure editar

With a team of over 30 spread out around the world, including: across the USA, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Mexico,

Argentina, Pakistan, India, Russia, Malaysia, Brazil, Poland, France, Belgium, Japan and others. Find My Parent's team's experience spans a wide variety of industries and companies.

Beliefs editar

Find My Parent believes that children have a right to both parents and should be empowered and educated to stand up for those rights. This is not just a right but enables children to thrive in all aspects of their lives. Divorce must no longer be just about the needs of the parents but most importantly about the needs of the children.

Find My Parents believes that each country must encourage joint custody, except in extreme cases where the child is at risk for physical or emotional abuse. Laws must be passed to establish joint custody as the default option. Co-parenting must also be encouraged at all levels of society and among all members of the family.

Find My Parent understands that children who are abducted, including by one of their parents, struggle with several socio-economic and psychological consequences. These children are at high risk for emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. Children who live in single-parent homes due to the second parent's extreme alienation are much more likely to suffer from poverty. This affects their access to quality education and health services.

Funding and Accountability editar

Find My Parents offers a unique business model that couples technology with non-profit work. FMP World - the company's for-profit branch - collects funds from adult subscribers of the website. Subscribers under the age of 21 will always be able to search for their parents online free of charge. The funds collected are funneled back to the non-profit branch - Find My Parent. This innovative model ensures that Find My Parent's work is sustainable and it can continue to fight to ensure that all children have access to both parents.

Innovative Solutions editar

Find My Parent has a "tech for good" approach, tapping into machine learning with neural network technology to empower children in Japan and worldwide to re-untie with a lost parent. FMP aims at building creative child-friendly content that will help spread awareness of the technology app. One of FMP main goals is spreading awareness and encouraging behavior change by using all available social media channels and developing creative content. Find My Parent has strategic partnerships with the private sector in Silicon Valley to build expertise, share knowledge, and create a larger impact.

Animation editar

Find My Parents will adopt animations to engage young children better. FMP will also use storytelling as a powerful tool; through the art of storytelling, we aim to educate the public about the short- and long-term effects of parental alienation and abduction. We will do this by highlighting the story of Eli, a young girl in Japan whose mother has abducted her from her father.

Storytelling is one of the most powerful means to influence and inspire others to act. We aim to engage others and convey the psychological, physical, and financial challenges that are experienced by a child who has been abducted by a parent.

Our objective is not only to motivate a child to understand they are not alone and inspire them to look for a parent but to help trigger empathy among adults who can take action to help fix the corrupt system.

The story of Aneko will also serve as an example of positive co-parenting.
