The European Library is not just about books. The project entails much, much more. It's often being mentioned in the same category as Project Gutenberg, Google Book, etc. You may like to consult [http://www.theeuropeanlibrary.org The European Library site] and in particular its media center. It is growing into the European digital library - a flagship project of the European Commission. Hope this helps.
