Biografia

Foi professor de Ciência Natural em Praga, autor de Reliquiae Haenkeanae que descreve espécies de plantas do Brasil. Dentre outros estabeleceu três gêneros de Orchidaceae do Brasil: Elleanthus, Cyclopogon e Sarcoglottis .
